Method of making bromochloropropane
There is now a method of making "2 - Bromo 2 - Chloropropane". First, take an appropriate propanol, use sulfuric acid as a catalyst, and place it in a reactor with hydrogen bromide and hydrogen chloride gas. Control its temperature to a suitable degree to combine propanol with hydrogen bromide and hydrogen chloride. The hydroxyl group of propanol is replaced by bromine and chlorine, so "2 - Bromo 2 - Chloropropane" is obtained.
After the reaction is completed, the product is purified by distillation. Due to the difference between its boiling point and impurities, "2 - Bromo 2 - Chloropropane" is vaporized at a specific temperature and condensed into a liquid to obtain a pure "2 - Bromo 2 - Chloropropane".
